This was a huge blow for us. We have 8 children at home, and several of them are autistic. Caring for them takes a lot of strength and time for both of us, and Benjy fighting cancer stretched us to the limits emotionally and financially. Benjy is a superhero - between rounds of chemotherapy he tries to continue at his programming job, and help me with the kids. But much of the time he is very weak and I am on my own.
Now, they say that lightning never strikes twice, but cancer doesn’t seem to follow that rule. Ari (11), our 6th child was just diagnosed with a brain tumor. It is affecting his ability to walk and to eat. He needs urgent, life-saving surgery as soon as possible. I am afraid for his life.
It’s all just too much. 8 children. Autistic children. A sick husband. A child whose life is in danger. And on top of all that - we are struggling financially in a major way. We need help paying for basic expenses, like rent, food and desperately needed medication.
Please help us. Please help us cope and pay for everything we need, to give my children a normal home while their father and brother fight deadly cancer.
