My name is Riki. I’m a mother of six young children, ages two through twelve, living in Jerusalem.
A few months ago, my husband, Boruch, began having trouble walking. We rushed from doctor to doctor, terrified. At first, we were told it might be a stroke. We held onto that hope. But while we waited for answers, the truth was far worse—his unseen cancer was spreading.
By the time we received the correct diagnosis, everything had already changed. Boruch was diagnosed with brain cancer, but it had already metastasized and spread all over his body.
Boruch immediately started radiation therapy. Now, he receives chemotherapy every single day. He is fighting with all his strength—but the battle is exhausting, and it has taken over every part of our lives.
Suddenly, I am carrying everything alone.
I am caring for a seriously ill husband. I am raising six young children who are scared and confused. I am trying to keep our home functioning, emotionally and financially. I work as an accountant, but I cannot earn enough to cover the medical costs, the household expenses, and the basic needs of six growing children—especially while so much of my time is spent caring for Boruch.
I am holding my family together with my bare hands.
My children need stability. They need a mother who can stay strong. And Boruch needs the chance to fight for his life without the constant fear of how we will survive tomorrow.
Asking for help is not easy. But we cannot get through this alone.
If you are able to help us financially—whether a large gift or a small one—you would be giving us more than money. You would be giving us breathing room. Strength. Hope. The ability to keep going.
From the depths of my heart, thank you for standing with our family in this unimaginably difficult time.
Riki
