This Purim, go back to the heart of the mitzvah.
Right now, 125 poor families in Yerushalayim are desperate for help to put food on the table and pay their most basic bills.
Their cause is urgent: Ozer V’Somech is a small but impactful local tzedaka organization that knows the families personally. Families in the neighborhood apply for help, their situations are reviewed up close, and Ozer V’Somech does its best to get them exactly what they need.
This Purim, each eligible family will receive $1000 on a rechargeable card — allowing them to purchase food and essentials with dignity, without embarrassment, and according to their own needs.
All donors who give $1000 or more for matanos l’evyonim here will be prayed for, by name, in the middle of Purim day — after R’ Dovid Blau shlita finishes the entire Sefer Tehillim. He will daven with intensity for all those who step forward to support one of these families.
Funds will be distributed on Purim day itself, in keeping with the mitzvah of matanos l’evyonim.
