I’m ashamed to write this, but I’m just not sure what else to do.
A few months ago my husband Yeshaya had a mental breakdown. When he started complaining of pain, and staying in bed for hours I thought it was a serious physical illness. The doctors found nothing wrong, though, and I was at my wits end. Finally, one doctor explained that the physical symptoms were a manifestation of something going on deep inside Yeshaya’s psyche.
Now Yeshaya is receiving therapy and medication that will hopefully get him back to himself. It’s very expensive – but that’s not our main problem.
For the past few months we haven’t had enough income. Yeshaya was completely unable to work. Bills piled up, credit cards are maxed out – and we haven’t paid our rent.
Now, our landlord is threatening to evict us if we don’t pay our rent for the last few months in just 2 weeks. It’s a significant amount that I just have no way to pay. I don’t want to be out on the streets with a husband who is still not functioning, and my one year old daughter Esther.
It’s terrifying to think that we are on the brink of homelessness. Please help us raise the money we need to keep a roof over our heads.
