Shalom Aleichem,
My name is Gila Ghermiza, and I live in Modi’in Illit.
Baruch Hashem, I have nine children, seven married, and many grandchildren, bla”h.
Ten years ago, I was diagnosed with ALS.
It started with muscle weakness and slurred speech.
I lost the ability to move my body, eat, and breathe on my own, and as my disease progressed.
It requires a lot from my family to keep me alive!
My feeding tube,
My breathing apparatus,
and the daily care for basic human needs.
My husband and children are very devoted to me.
Their dedication fills my heart to the brim,
even as I lose life’s most precious faculties.
I see the years of raising my children come to fruition,
as they attend to my every need, and more.
At the same time, their devotion pains me, because it drains them:
Physically, emotionally, and most of all, FINANCIALLY.
I wish they could take more help, but as it is,
I cost over 30,000 shekels a month just to live!
This campaign is to keep me alive as an ALS patient.
PLEASE OPEN YOUR HEART, AND DONATE GENEROUSLY!!!!
