Rescue teams combed through the rubble through the night, searching for those who may still be trapped. The buildings where they live — where they made Shabbos just hours earlier, where their children sleep, where they were in the middle of preparing for Pesach — are destroyed.
Right now, the shock is just beginning to set in. Hundreds of families have nowhere to go back to. They were evacuated with nothing. No clothes, no food, no beds for their children. The neighborhood they built their lives in is unrecognizable. And Pesach is in days. They cannot go home. In many cases, there is no home left to go to.
