Families from Northern Israel who live up North have been homeless for months. With the ceasefire in place, they’re desperate to return home - but their homes are unrecognizable. Thousands of rockets and months of neglect left their homes in ruins.
“I went up North to see if my family could return home - and I was shocked. My home in Kiryat Shmona suffered a direct hit from a Hezbollah rocket. I couldn’t even enter my apartment because the front door was completely distorted. My kitchen with the gorgeous blue tiles, the big bay windows, and the walls with my family picture were all destroyed.
Rain seeped in through the broken roof, and the few rooms left standing were rotten and full of mold. I left shaking. My kids are desperate to come home again, but it will take months and more money than we can afford to fix up the damage.”
- Shulamit, Kiryat Shmona
They are facing:
25 families have applied for help. Their homes urgently need fixing up - but they can’t afford the enormous expense. Government help doesn’t cover the full amount, and the families can’t afford to wait until the help comes through.
Donations are urgently needed to give each family $5,000 to pay for exterminators, fixing smashed windows and walls, and repairing damage from mold.
Hezbollah forced them to leave their homes, and the repair jobs are preventing them from returning home. Please help bring a displaced family home by paying for urgent repair jobs!
