Hello, my name is Shayna Feldstein.
My 10 siblings and I grew up in the Ukraine. Things were normal, and we were happy. My mom & dad were both teachers.
Then the war started.
In one crazy night we packed our things into suitcases and left in the dark, not knowing where we were going or if we would survive to make it there. Bombs exploded in the distance and we prayed that we would live. B’chasdei Hashem we arrived in Eretz Yisroel, and we are safe. But we had to leave everything behind.
My parents don’t know Hebrew yet and haven’t been able to find work, especially enough work to support 11 kids. We have a few things that came from donations and gemachs… but there is no money for anything extra.
Baruch Hashem, there is now a happy part to the story - I am a kallah! I am so grateful to have survived and to now be building a bayis ne’eman b’yisroel. But we are overwhelmed by the costs of making even the most basic wedding. A hall.. Sheva brachos.. It’s all beyond possible for a family like mine. None of my friends will be at the wedding. We are all scattered all over the world and I don’t know if I will ever see them again. It is difficult.
Please, if you can help me, it would mean so much to me! So that we can make a simple simcha and get started.
Tizku l’mitzvos!!!
Shayna
