I lost my father 6 years ago, and I’m about to lose my wedding too. Please help me get married with dignity!

Update 16/06: The wedding is this week! A large amount is still needed to cover basic wedding costs, and the next few days have never been more critical to allow Naomi to get married. Please help us reach the goal so Naomi can walk down the aisle this week.

Hello, I’m Naomi Weiss from Maalot Dafna, Jerusalem.

I’m getting married in less than 3 weeks, but I’m not your typical Kallah.

My father passed away 6 years ago from cardiac arrest, leaving behind my mother and us 7 children. We all miss my father terribly. I was just a teenager when he passed away, and I’m now going to walk under the Chuppa without him there to bless me.

The hardest part of his death though, is the poverty we live in. I’m embarrassed to admit that we often don’t have running water because we simply can’t pay the bills.

Weddings are such a happy occasion but they come with so many expenses. We’ve tried scraping together money but there is nothing we can cut back on – we already live with nothing. My wedding day is in less than a month but I still have no dress, no hall or catering booked for my wedding, and nothing to furnish home.

I’ve suffered a lot in my life, but I dream of having a happy functioning home. Please could I ask you to contribute to my wedding expenses? Nothing you give me will be wasted or spent on luxuries. I need help with basic wedding day costs, and furnishings for my home like beds, linen, and kitchen utensils.

I cannot thank you enough for giving me the means to get married with dignity. Hashem should see your kindness and repay you wherever you need a Yeshua.

Dear Brothers,

I am turning to you with a heartfelt request to encourage an orphan and widow, and partner in the mitzvah of hachnosas kallah.
The father of the family passed away several years ago, lo aleinu, and his widow is raising 7 children with strength. B’shaah tova the oldest daughter is now engaged and there is happiness in their home, but they are holding back tears. They do not know how to even start to pay for the most basic expenses, they simply do not have money.
Please, come and stretch out your hand to support the widow so she can be happy under the chuppah. Be a partner in this great mitzvah.

In the merit of this mitzvah you should have great abundance and Yiddishe nachas.
Rabbi Yaakov Zilberman
