Adina Zahavi a”h. A mother of 9 children who gave her life to save them, going back into the burning flames again and again until all of her children were saved. She clutched her children and ran through smoke and soot numerous times. A fire that started from an e-bike battery left plugged in near the couch turned out to be deadly, injuring 19 in addition to Adina.
Adina a”h was evacuated to a Jerusalem hospital in serious condition, and she passed hours later, leaving her 9 children without a mother. One of her sons, Michael ben Adina Batsheva is still in the hospital with burns and in need of tefillos.
Adina grew up in Oceanside, NY, and made aliyah 20 years ago. She raised a beautiful family of 9 children together with her husband Aryeh in the beautiful surroundings of Kochav Yaakov.
Now, her husband Aryeh and 9 orphans, the youngest only 1 year old, have finished sitting shiva. They have no home to return to – it was entirely destroyed in the horrific blaze.
