HASKAMA from Rav Yitzchok Zilberstein shlita: (Original Haskama below)

“Hachnosas kallah for the great-granddaughter of the Gadol Hador. Who doesn’t want the Gadol Hador Maran Hagaon Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv shlita to be a meilitz yosher on his behalf before Hashem?

The Rav of all of Klal Yisroel has an orphaned [great-granddaughter] who is a wonderful girl, first in her class, Leah Elyashiv. She is an orphan and now she is engaged to be married and is in need of hachnosas kallah.

Lucky is the person who will raise their hands to be of assistance to her. All [her forefathers] Gedolei Olam the Baal HaLeshem [and Rav Elyashiv ztz”l] will be meilitzei yosher before Hashem.

I bless you with my whole heart,

Yitzchok Zilberstein”

A LETTER FROM THE KALLAH:

Hello,

My name is Leah Elyashiv. I am the 7th out of 11 children. I am proud to say that I am the great-granddaughter of Rav Elyashiv zt’’l. Five years ago, I went through the hardest stage of my 20 years when my mother passed away after only nine months , after battling a horrible tumor in her brainstem.

My mother was an incredible woman. I was very close to her. It is hard for me to find the words to describe what it was like having to say goodbye to such an important person in my life. She loved us, she nurtured us, and she held the family together ever since my father has been out of the picture. When she died, everything fell apart. My siblings and I were taken in by friends and relatives. Our financial situation is terrible.

Boruch Hashem, I am engaged to a wonderful young man, Yitzchak Elchanan Spitzer. My sisters and brothers, I am turning to you for help. Getting married without my mother and father leading me to the Chupah is not simple, but my mother also taught us that Hashem does not abandon any Jew. Please, hear my cry. Don’t turn me away.

Hashem should bless each and every one of you with simcha, shefa, and nachas from many descendants. My chosson and I will never be able to thank you enough.

Bracha v’hatzlocha,

Leah Elyashiv
