A year ago, my wife Miriam was diagnosed with cancer. The doctors gave her a month to live. What Miriam did every day for the next 12 months was typical of her:
She defied the odds.
Miriam was a true tzadekkes and the epitome of an eishes chayil: With the simple meager income that we had she created a beautiful family and home, filled with warmth and love and overflowing with happiness. We have 16 kids k’’h, and Miriam married off eight of them on her own because she wanted nothing to stop me from learning.
We always managed, despite having so little– One of our children had glasses held together by tape for months because we didn’t have the funds to replace them. But they didn’t care- Mommy loved them. They knew the physical didn’t matter.
Miriam was everything to them, to us. We didn’t have anything else.
Then, this past Friday, Miriam’s vital signs started to fail. She was hospitalized in Shaarei Tzedek intensive care unit. Over shabbos she grew weaker and weaker, and finally returned her neshama to Hashem on Monday night Rosh Chodesh Adar.
If you can please help us it would be a tremendous help, to know that the kids will have what they need… Even if they won’t have what they need most of all: Their Ima.
Thank you and Hashem should bless you and your families,
R’ Rabinowitz
