Many of the poorest families in the world are those fighting cancer and other illnesses.
The Vaad HaRabbanim Cholim Fund helps those families afford essentials like medications, rent, groceries, transportation, and more. Originally founded by Rav Chaim Kanievsky ztz”l, the Cholim Fund currently supports 714 seriously ill Jews and their families.
Before Rosh Hashanah two of the Gedolei Rabbanim in Eretz Yisroel have published an urgent letter calling on the Klal to support the Cholim Fund for another year:

“The cries of the families of the sick with difficult situations have come before us who are suffering…literally in Pikuach Nefesh situations…many families who have no money for food after enormous medical expenses. Therefore, we have gathered on behalf of the special fund “He will not be sick” [founded by Rav Chaim] with the Vaad Harabanim. We ask from everyone to donate 83 on a monthly basis.
All those who are partners in this fund should merit measure for measure to be protected from any illness or sorrow in ruchniyus and gashmiyus, for them and the members of their family…and they should not require doctors or treatments…They should merit to be written in the Book of Life for a good decree and be declared innocent in judgement.
